DELVE - SF, CA

Lead Industrial Designer [2019 - present]

I'm currently living in the Bay Area, ca at Delve SF (formerly Design Concepts Inc). After my time at Design Concepts Madison, I was transitioned to the San Francisco office to lead the industrial design efforts. My responsibilities include strategically creating product visions and leading our team with sketching, prototyping and validating concepts - collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, marketers and researchers. At our SF office, I work and lead project efforts ranging from medical treatment systems to consumer goods in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Design Concepts Inc - Madison, WI

Industrial Designer [2017 - 2019]

I joined Design concepts as a member of the Madison, WI industrial design team in July 2017. During my time in the Midwest, I was responsible for conceptualizing using sketching, CAD, and prototyping along side a talented, award-winning team of designers and engineers. I also supported and facilitated design research sessions to validate concepts in the field. Though we worked on a wide range of products, the majority of the clientele was in the medical space. This experience exposed me to the world of design for healthcare and I've found it extremely rewarding.

Contract Industrial Designer [Summer 2017]

Worked with the small team of industrial designers in a three month contract where I worked on ideation projects and supported efforts in a range of consumer electronics. I was challenged to quickly immerse myself in a new work flow and adapt to the needs of the company and the clients.

Focus PDM - Menlo Park, CA

Industrial Designer [2015 - 2017]

At Focus PDM, I was able to transition from an Industrial Design Intern to a full-time team member. The majority of the work came from small entrepreneurs and start up businesses with and idea looking to us to design the solution. Because of the nature of working for a start-up design firm, I was called to wear multiple hats within the company to support our clients' design goals - the challenge being that often times, entrepreneurs need help defining problem statements and how to strategically design solutions. It was here that I experienced the rise and fall of a small size, scrappy consulting firm.

Wincent Voltset - San jose, CA

Industrial Design Intern [Winter 2013 - Spring 2014]

During my college years I interned at this start-up with the goal to help design and launch “the world’s smallest Voltmeter” on Kickstarter. Our team designed and validated the voltmeter during research sessions and interviews. We launched the product and it was successfully funded.

SAN JOSE STATE UNIVERSITY - San jose, CA

BACHELORS SCIENCE | Industrial Design [2010 - 2015]

I chose to study Industrial Design at San Jose State after studying architectural design and drafting at Oak Ridge High School. During my high school years, I was awarded an ROTC Full Scholarship to participate in Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s Architecture Intensive - a design program for High School students to study in San Luis Obispo with the students and professors. We participated in a series of design sprints that pushed us into the deep end. I loved the grind of this workshop and the processes we were taught, but afterwards I found that the scale of buildings and spaces wasn’t for me. I love the design process and discovered industrial design followed similar principles and opened me up to more variety of objects. It was at San Jose State University’s competitive program that I learned the craft.
